Horton Halls of Residence
St.George’s Grove
Tooting, London SW17 0BD

The recently constructed Horton Halls of Residence are just a mile from St George’s University of London. The halls consist of five accommodation buildings, each with its own lift, clustered around a secure central courtyard monitored by CCTV.

  • There are 332 study/bedrooms grouped into flats of 4, 5 or 6 rooms
  • Each study/bedroom has its own bed, ensuite toilet, shower and washbasin, desk, high speed ethernet internet access, TV point, telephone, noticeboard, mirror, wardrobe and storage facility.
    • Please note that duvet, pillows, bedlinen and towels are not provided.
  • Each flat has a common kitchen/dining room area, fully equiped with fridge-freezers, ovens, food storage areas, a dishwasher, and a large table and chairs
  • Each accommodation building has a roof top Common Room, each with a 42-inch plasma TV screen, soft furniture, and wireless internet access
  • There is specially designed wheelchair accessible accommodation available on the ground floor

All students have access to:

  • A coin-operated laundry
  • Bike sheds (approx 150 places)
  • Management suite and reception area which is manned 24 hour/day by security staff.

What are the hall fees?
Being in Tooting, the halls are competitively priced. As of the academic year 2008/09, a room in halls costs £98:70 per week. The weekly rate for 2009/10 has yet to be decided, but please note that all fees are subject to an annual revision.

You sign an Accommodation Licence for 42 weeks including the Christmas and Easter Vacations and must pay for the whole 42 weeks unless you can find a suitable replacement student to take up your tenancy.

Normally you can only stay in a hall for your first year but it is usually easy to find private housing  for other years and we will give you advice during the year about how to do this.
